NearbyFires.com is operated by Long Pattern LLC. This page explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Anonymous analytics — page views, referrers, and aggregate traffic patterns to understand which pages are useful.
• Server logs — IP address, user agent, and requested URL, retained for 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
• No location data — we do not request or record your device location. The fire map is centered on the continental US by default.

What we don't do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not set advertising cookies or tracking pixels from third parties.
• We do not use the NASA FIRMS or NIFC data to identify individuals.

Third-party map tiles

Our interactive maps use OpenStreetMap tile servers. When you view a map, your browser connects to openstreetmap.org and their standard server logging applies. If you prefer not to load map tiles, JavaScript can be disabled — the rest of the site works without it.
